Tucked away in the countryside of Mallorca, Rancho Fino is more than an animal sanctuary.
It’s a place where animals who have been forgotten, neglected, or pushed to the edge are given something many of them have never known before:
safety, respect, and a real chance to live.
This rescue is often the last stop for animals who have nowhere else to go — old, sick, injured, traumatised, or simply no longer “wanted.”
But what makes Rancho Fino different is not just that they take these animals in.
It’s how they care for them.
A place where animals are seen
Every animal here is treated as an individual — with their own personality, needs, history, and pace of healing.
There are no rows of cages.
No “one-size-fits-all” approach.
Instead, the animals live in a more natural, home-like environment,
where they can slowly rebuild trust, relearn how to feel safe,
and — in many cases — rediscover joy.
Rescue, rehabilitation… and sometimes, something deeper
The mission of Rancho Fino is not just rescue.
It’s to:
- bring animals back from neglect and abuse
- support their physical and emotional recovery
- and, whenever possible, help them find a future that truly fits them

Many of the animals who arrive here are elderly, chronically ill, or have experienced severe trauma.
For them, Rancho Fino becomes a sanctuary in the truest sense — a place to live out their lives in peace, surrounded by care and compassion.
Sometimes, the greatest gift isn’t a new home.
It’s a safe, loving place to simply be.
Built from the ground up
Rancho Fino was founded by Stacey van Tichelt — not as a business plan, but as something that unfolded step by step.
What started with rescuing a single horse grew into a full sanctuary, built from scratch under incredibly challenging conditions, driven by one thing:
a refusal to look away.
Years of hard work, personal sacrifice, and deep dedication have shaped Rancho Fino into what it is today — a safe haven powered by commitment and community support.
A sanctuary that depends on people who care
Running a rescue like this is constant, demanding, and often unpredictable.
Many of the animals require ongoing veterinary care, specialised treatment, and daily attention — and the costs are significant.
Every donation helps provide:
- food and medical care
- safe shelter and rehabilitation
- and a life where these animals are finally treated with the care they deserve
